Game Modes
PaddockDle is home to three main games, each with multiple modes to test your Formula 1 knowledge: PaddockDle Wordle, where you guess a mystery driver, PaddockDle Grid, a category-matching grid puzzle, and PaddockDle Career, where you guess a driver from their team history. Play solo, daily, or head-to-head against friends.
PaddockDle Wordle
Guess the mystery F1 driver using colour-coded clues. Available in three modes: a shared daily challenge, unlimited solo practice, and competitive head-to-head duels with friends.
Daily Mode
Every day at midnight Eastern Time a new mystery F1 driver is revealed for everyone to guess. The same driver is the answer for all players worldwide that day, so you can compare results and share your score without spoiling the answer.
- One puzzle per day — resets at midnight EST (05:00 UTC).
- Six guesses to identify the mystery driver.
- Results are saved to your account or device so you can return later.
- Streak tracking: consecutive days won build your current streak.
- Best streak is recorded for all-time bragging rights.
- A guess distribution chart shows how quickly you have been solving puzzles.
- Share your result as an emoji grid without revealing the answer.
How streaks work
Your current streak increases by 1 each time you correctly identify the daily driver on the day the puzzle is active. Missing a day breaks the streak back to zero. Completing the puzzle after midnight the following day does not preserve the streak — each day must be played within its 24-hour window. Your best-ever streak is always preserved even if your current streak resets.
Syncing across devices
Guest players store results in their browser's local storage. Creating a free account syncs your statistics to the cloud so they are available on any device and cannot be lost when you clear your browser.
Infinite Mode
No waiting for tomorrow. Infinite Mode lets you play as many games as you want, back to back, at any time. A different driver is randomly selected for each new game from the full pool of included F1 drivers.
- Unlimited games — start a new one as soon as the current game ends.
- Same six-guess limit and colour-clue system as Daily Mode.
- Separate statistics tracked independently from your Daily stats.
- Infinite streak counts consecutive wins (not consecutive days).
- Great for learning the driver roster or warming up before competitions.
Infinite Mode statistics are stored separately so they do not inflate your Daily numbers. Both are viewable in the Stats panel accessible from the game header.
Duel Mode
Challenge a friend to a real-time head-to-head match. Both players receive the same mystery driver and race to identify them in the fewest guesses. The player who guesses correctly using fewer attempts wins. If both players guess in the same number of guesses, the match is a draw.
- Requires a free account to participate.
- Add friends by their username from the Friends panel.
- Send a challenge — your friend receives an in-app notification.
- Both players see the same mystery driver target (chosen securely server-side).
- You can see your opponent's progress in real time (guesses made, whether they've finished).
- Results show win, loss, or draw with guess counts for both players.
- Rematch instantly after a duel ends — both players must agree.
- Win/loss/draw records are tracked per friendship for head-to-head history.
Fairness & security
The target driver is selected and stored exclusively on our servers — it is never sent to either player's browser before the game is over. This prevents any form of cheating by inspecting network requests or browser storage.
PaddockDle Grid
Fill a 3×3 grid where every row and column is its own F1 category — nationality, team, career achievement, era, and more. Available as a daily solo puzzle and as a live head-to-head duel against a friend.
Daily Grid
A daily 3x3 grid puzzle. Each row and column represents a category — a team, nationality, or career achievement. Name a driver who fits both the row and column category to fill each cell. The driver pool covers F1 drivers from 2010 to the present.
- One grid per day — resets at midnight EST.
- 3 lives — an incorrect guess costs a life; run out and the game ends.
- Each driver can only be used once across the whole grid.
- Complete all 9 cells for a perfect grid.
- Results are saved to your account or device so you can return later.
Paddock Grid statistics are tracked separately from PaddockDle Wordle. A free account keeps your progress synced across devices.
Grid Duel
The head-to-head version of PaddockDle Grid. Challenge a friend to a live 1v1 match on the same 3×3 category grid — instead of racing the clock alone, you're racing each other, taking turns to claim cells before your opponent does. The driver pool covers F1 drivers from 2010 to the present.
- Requires a free account so you can add friends and challenge them.
- Players alternate turns, each claiming one open cell with a matching driver.
- 30 seconds per turn — run out of time and your turn is skipped.
- A driver used anywhere on the board can't be used again for the rest of the match.
- Whoever claims the most cells — or locks a winning line first — wins the duel.
- Rematch anytime — request a fresh grid once the duel ends.
PaddockDle Career
Guess the mystery driver from a chronological path of the teams they raced for, revealed one at a time. Available as a shared Daily challenge, unlimited Infinite practice, and a 60-second Rush mode.
Daily Mode
One shared career path every day. Teams are revealed in chronological order as you use up guesses, and everyone races to identify the same mystery driver.
- One puzzle per day — resets at midnight Eastern Time.
- Five guesses to identify the mystery driver.
- Streak tracking with a countdown to the next driver once you finish.
- Share your result as an emoji grid without revealing the answer.
Infinite Mode
Unlimited back-to-back rounds. Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty at any time — harder difficulties hide more of the career path up front.
- Unlimited games — start a new one as soon as the current round ends.
- Switch difficulty whenever you like.
- Statistics tracked separately per difficulty.
Rush Mode
A 60-second sprint. Guess as many drivers correctly as you can before time runs out, skipping tricky ones to keep your run alive.
- 60 seconds on the clock per run.
- Skip a driver to move on without ending the run.
- Personal best score and longest streak tracked with a free account.
PaddockDle Trivia
A straightforward daily F1 trivia quiz — 10 new questions every day, the same set for every player.
Daily Trivia
Answer 10 multiple-choice F1 questions — 3 easy, 5 medium, and 2 hard — in a fixed order shared by every player that day. A progress bar tracks your correct and incorrect answers as you go.
- One set of 10 questions per day — resets at midnight Eastern Time.
- Answer each question before moving to the next — no skipping or going back.
- Your progress is saved if you leave and come back the same day.
- Share your score as an emoji grid without revealing any answers.
Statistics & Streaks
Games Played
Total puzzles you have attempted, counting both wins and losses.
Win Rate
Percentage of games where you guessed the driver within six attempts.
Current Streak
Consecutive daily puzzles won without missing a day (Daily Mode only).
Best Streak
Your all-time record of consecutive daily wins.
Guess Distribution
Bar chart showing how many games you solved in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 guesses.
Cloud Sync
Log in with a free account to persist all stats across browsers and devices.
