How to Play
PaddockDle is home to four Formula 1 games: PaddockDle Wordle, where you guess a mystery driver in six tries, Paddock Grid, where you match drivers to category intersections, PaddockDle Career, where you guess a driver from their team history, and PaddockDle Trivia, a daily 10-question quiz. Here's how to play all four.

Step-by-Step

Start typing a driver name
Use the search box at the top of the game. Type a name, code, or nationality — the list filters instantly. Fuzzy matching handles accents and abbreviations (typing 'Hul' finds Hülkenberg).

Submit a guess
Select a driver from the dropdown and their row appears on the board immediately.

Read the colour clues
Each of the six tiles in the row changes colour to show how close that attribute is to the mystery driver.
- 4
Narrow it down
Use the arrows and colours to eliminate possibilities. An upward arrow on Age means the answer is older than your guess.
- 5
Guess the driver
If all six tiles go green you've found the mystery driver! If you use all six guesses without a match, the answer is revealed.
Colour Guide
Green — Exact match
This attribute is exactly correct. The mystery driver shares this nationality, team, win count, age, or career start year.
Yellow — Partial match
Close, but not perfect. For Team, it means the guessed driver and the mystery driver have played for the same team at some point, but the guessed driver's current team differs.
Red — No match
This attribute does not match and there is no overlap.
↑ Arrow — Higher
The correct value is higher than your guess. Applies to Wins, Age, and First Year in F1.
↓ Arrow — Lower
The correct value is lower than your guess. Applies to Wins, Age, and First Year in F1.
Colour-blind mode: Accessible colour palette available via the Settings (⚙) icon. Patterns and text labels replace colour as the primary indicator.
What Each Attribute Means
Driver Code
The three-letter abbreviation used on TV broadcasts — e.g. HAM, VER, NOR.
Nationality / Flag
The country the driver represents. Match = exact same nationality.
Team
The driver's current team. Yellow if they share any team in their career history.
Career Wins
Total Formula 1 race victories at the time the data was compiled.
Age
Driver's current age in years. Arrows indicate whether the answer is older or younger.
First F1 Year
The season the driver made their Formula 1 debut. Arrows point higher or lower.
Tips & Strategy
- Start with a driver who has a unique nationality to eliminate entire continents quickly.
- Drivers with many wins (Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso, Verstappen) act as useful anchors — their win count separates them clearly.
- A yellow Team tile is valuable: you know the answer shared a team with your guess at some point in their career.
- Use First Year to separate drivers from the 2015–2018 intake (Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris) versus veterans.
- The driver pool covers the modern era from the 2016 grid onwards — retired legends like Button and Rosberg are included.
PaddockDle Grid
A daily 3x3 grid where each row and column is an F1 category. Name a driver who fits both to fill the cell.

Pick a cell
Click any empty cell in the 3x3 grid — it intersects one row category and one column category.

Search for a driver
Type a driver's name in the search box that appears.

Submit your guess
Choose a driver who fits both categories. Correct guesses fill the cell with that driver's headshot.

Watch your lives
You start with 3 lives. Every incorrect guess costs one life — lose all three and the grid ends.
- 5
Complete the grid
Fill all 9 cells for a perfect grid, using a different driver in every cell.
Rules
- A new grid is released daily at midnight Eastern Time.
- Each driver can only be used once across the entire grid.
- You have 3 lives — the grid ends if you run out.
- Results are saved to your account or device so you can track your progress.
- The driver pool covers F1 drivers from 2010 to the present.
PaddockDle Career
Guess the mystery driver from a chronological path of the teams they raced for, revealed one at a time.

A chronological sequence of team logos represents the driver's career, revealed step by step.

Make a guess
Search for and select the F1 driver you think matches the career path shown so far.

Watch your attempts
You get 5 guesses. Each wrong guess reveals another team in the path.

Nail the driver
Guess correctly before your attempts run out to win the round.
Three Ways to Play
Daily Mode
One shared career path every day. Build your streak and see the countdown to the next driver once you finish. Resets at midnight Eastern Time.
Infinite Mode
Unlimited back-to-back rounds at your choice of Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty. Great for practice.
Rush Mode
60 seconds on the clock. Guess as many drivers correctly as you can, skip tricky ones, and chase your personal best.
Rules
- You have 5 attempts per driver in Daily and Infinite modes.
- A new Daily career path is published every day at midnight Eastern Time.
- Infinite mode lets you switch between Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty at any time.
- Rush mode gives you 60 seconds to correctly guess as many drivers as possible.
- Results are saved to your account or device so you can track your progress.
PaddockDle Trivia
A daily 10-question F1 trivia quiz — the same questions, in the same order, for every player. Missed a day? Use the Archive tab to go back and play any past quiz.

Rules
- Ten questions daily: Every day's quiz has 3 easy, 5 medium, and 2 hard questions, in a fixed order shared by every player.
- No skipping or redoing: You must answer each question before moving to the next, and you can't go back to change an answer.
- New set daily: A fresh set of 10 questions is published every day at midnight Eastern Time.
- Track your progress: Your progress is saved if you leave and come back the same day, so you can finish where you left off.
- Catch up in the Archive: Missed a day? Switch to the Archive tab to replay any past daily quiz. Archive results count toward your stats and leaderboard score, but won't repair a broken streak.
